Agent Carter Viewing - Film Elements

      Editing is used immediately, a clip from Captain America: The First Avenger where Agent Carter loses the one she loves, Captain America, is used as a preface for the remainder of the one-shot. She, although disconnected from who would be her significant other, was still very much fine independently with accomplishments and the ability to accomplish more all on her lonesome. It immediately sets a sad tone but it is because of this initial clip that you can tell that she is strong willed. It uses three shots, one of Carter talking over the walkie talkie thing, another of the Cap in the plane as it crashes into the water, and lastly, one where Captain America’s plane can be seen crashing into the water, after the Captain America says his last words to Carter. After this it goes back to the shot of Carter where instead she can be seen crying. A series of shots with editing and of course sound and diegetic sound of the plane going into the water, and their dialogue.

      It uses shots to show her face whenever she gets a provocative, sometimes even inciteful comment or response from Agent Flynn, It does this to reveal her face and reaction.

      They use several camera shots where the camera is outside the building as Agent Carter kicks the crap out of the men outside of it. They use shots where the camera is inside the building as well. They use these shots to denote the difference between what is happening inside and outside of it and demonstrate how it looks outside from within.

      It isn't until during a similar shot that they are kicked through the window, and you can then see the person's attention getting caught. They used sound to demonstrate that while there were grunts and kicks and punches being thrown outside making noise, from inside, nothing could be heard, so much so that the man with them that stayed back continued to eat his burger and read his newspaper while this all went down outside. It is not until they are kicked through the window that the guy notices what was happening or more accurately, what had happened.

      They used many shots of how it sounded inside and outside of the building. This is an example of editing that makes it go from shot to shot which is an example of camera shots and angles, and last but not least, sound, which was very integral to the string of shots as that was what held them together.

      They, once again, strung shots together using editing to show the guy who had been startled, now armed with a tommy gun, looking around pursuing Agent Carter. It then uses a pan shot after she presses a gun against HIS head to reveal that she is by him and got the jump on him. Many angles and shots were used and edited together to create one singular scene.
